National African American Quilt Guild Presents Exhibition at Black Heritage Gallery

Lake Charles, LA – The Black Heritage Gallery proudly presents “PRAISE Is What I Do,” an inspiring exhibition by the National African American Quilt Guild, celebrating the rich legacy and artistic mastery of African American quilting traditions. This highly anticipated exhibit will open with a special reception on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at the Black Heritage Gallery, located at 1001 Ryan Street, Lake Charles, LA 70601.

The exhibition, curated by Jeanine Blaney, showcases the intricate craftsmanship and cultural storytelling embedded in African American quilting. Each piece is a testament to resilience, faith, and artistic expression, reflecting a legacy passed down through generations.

The exhibit will be on display from February 7 through March 29, 2025, with gallery hours from Tuesday through Saturday, 10 AM – 6 PM.
